How You Can Help

We are asking for dedicated volunteers to help with our weekly dog washes. An hour or few can make a difference, so come and help us raise money to benefit the shelter animals!
Contact us at 503-397-4353.

Your donations help keep the shelter doors open to provide a roof over the heads of many homeless animals until their forever home is found.
We are in desperate need of a few things right now... especially dry dog, cat, and kitten food.
See our Wish List for additional items.

Volunteer

Volunteer help is necessary in order for us to continue our current programs and assist in other necessary ways . . .

Your time and talents are needed to socialize, walk, and train animals, perform general office tasks, and help with fund raising, publicity, and/or public education — to name just a few.

A few hours of your time will make a difference. If you love animals and can spare as little as one morning or afternoon per week, our animals need you!

Foster Care

Thank you for your interest in the Foster Care Program. We appreciate your willingness to open your heart and home to homeless animals. Your dedication allows our organization to rescue animals that we would otherwise have to turn away due to lack of space in our existing foster homes or shelter.

Wish List

Caring for our animals requires more than time from our dedicated group of volunteers; it also requires money and supplies.

Donate

CHS relies on donations to cover monthly operating costs. There are three ways to give: at the shelter, online, or through electronic bank transfers.

Memorial Wall Plaque

A 12-foot cedar Memorial Wall has been put up at one end of the new "Meet and Play" enclosure to hold plaques honoring departed companions.

As prospective adopters meet their possible dogs, they see a wall with engraved plaques listing the name, dates, and other information about beloved departed pets.

Recycling

CHS is currently participating in a national ink jet, laser cartridge and cell phone recycling program. CHS will receive $1.00 - $12.00 for empty cartridges and $2.50 for each digital cell phone.
